Crinoids belong to the Phylum Echinodermata, and are commonly called sea lilies.Fossil Crinoids are easily distinguished by the symmetrically arranged calcareous plates of the cup, bearing food-gathering appendages called arms and a stem that elevates the crown from the sea floor.
